Action Alert: Tell NY Mag: RAPE DOLL does not equal Girl Power

New York Magazine just published a post hailing Quentin Tarantino as a feminist.  http://nymag.com/movies/features/58314/ "Tarantino's films are as much about female empowerment as the macho shenanigans of tough guys. Honest."

Less than two years ago, Tarantino re-traumatized many sexual-assault victims by his "rape doll." http://www.nycagainstrape.org/event_683.html
From the above website:
Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has been turned into a doll to accompany his appearance as Rapist Number One in Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse movie Planet Terror, by NECA Toys.

Mr. Tarantino has been proudly showing off the doll on talk shows such as The Jimmy Kimmel Show to gain some bad publicity and public outrage based on a failed movie.

If only he knew what "rapist number one" means to countless survivors.

If NY Mag's definition of "Girl Power" is someone who condones rape, they need a better dictionary.

Tell NY Mag: Rape Doll does not equal girl power.  http://nymag.com/movies/features/58314/comments.html#comment-form
