Watch History in the Making

Tomorrow, the U.S. Senate is expected to vote on Judge Sotomayor's nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Latino advocacy and civil rights organizations including Democracia Ahora, Hispanic Federation, Hispanic National Bar Association, LULAC, MALDEF, LatinoJustice PRLDEF and others will be hosting Watch-the-Vote Parties across the nation to witness this historic vote.

Events are slated to take place in Wichita, KS, Las Vegas, NV, Miami, FL, New York, NY, San Antonio, TX, Los Angeles, CA, Tucson, AZ, Columbus, OH and all around the nation. Find a watch party near you or host one for your neighbors and friends.

Be sure to tell your friends and family about our efforts around Judge Sotomayor. We need everyone involved!

Judge Sotomayor's qualifications are eminent: she brings more federal judicial experience to the Court than any nominee in the last 100 years. Her background as a prosecutor, commercial litigator, trial judge and appellate court judge will enable her to make a unique contribution to the deliberations of the Court.

Endorsed by a diverse array of organizations, including the American Bar Association and the Fraternal Order of Police, and with a history of bipartisan support in her appointments to the federal district and appellate courts by Presidents George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton, Judge Sotomayor has broad appeal. Her American life story resonates with conservatives and liberals alike because it illustrates anything is possible no matter where you come from or your circumstance in life. She is the embodiment of the American dream.

You need to take action now! As your Senators get ready for tomorrow's vote, it's important that they hear directly from you. Call your Senator (202-224-3121) and urge them vote in support of Sotomayor's nomination.

By meeting together and calling our leaders, we're letting them know that regardless of where they stand on Sotomayor, the Latino community is engaged and watching.

P.S. Be sure to tell your friends and family about our efforts around Judge Sotomayor. We need everyone involved!
