"This battle is about self-determination by women of the direction and course of their lives and their family's lives. Abortion is about women's hopes and dreams. Abortion is a matter of survival for all women."
-Public statement by Dr. George Richard Tiller in 2001.
Dr. Tiller was murdered May 31, 2009 in Wichita, Kansas, while attending church with his family. He was one of three providers of late-term abortion in the U.S.
Abortion rights are under attack. The right wing has waged a 35-year war on women's rights: now 51% of people consider themselves "pro-life". Abortion "alternative" clinics now outnumber abortion clinics 2 to 1. It is time to rebuild an abortion rights movement that is unapologetic in its demand for women's control of their own bodies.
